Greeting Card - Banksia

Instantly recognisable by their flower spikes, that are made up of hundreds of tiny individual flowers, banksias are affectionately known as 'old man banksia' or wiriyagan by the Gadigal people, the traditional owners of the land.

The rugged zig zag leaves give it its other nickname, the saw banksia. Make sure you wear your gloves if pruning one of these, as those serrated leaves are really tough!
