The emu is Australia's biggest bird, so it follows that they lay the biggest eggs. An emu egg is about 13cm long! The male emu sits on the eggs until they hatch, and then he raises them. The chicks that emerge from this large deep green egg are cute as a button, covered in soft brown and cream striped feathers.
